Used Coating Machine Industry knowledge

Used Coating Machine Manufacturer & Supplier

Shanghai Zenix Vacuum Coating Technology Co., Ltd. is a China-based Used Coating Machine manufacturer with nearly 40 years of experience in vacuum coating equipment. We supply refurbished and field-proven PVD coating systems for hard, decorative, and functional coating applications. Our used coating machines are sourced from our own production lines and customer trade-ins, then inspected, reconditioned, and tested to deliver reliable performance at a lower capital cost.

Our used coating machine range includes second-hand PVD coating machines for decorative finishes and used-hand PVD hard coating machines for gear tools and precision components. Each system is supported by our engineering team, spare parts inventory, and process know-how.

Our Used Coating Machine Range

Second Hand PVD Coating Machine

Designed for decorative coating applications, this system supports cathodic arc and magnetron sputtering. It delivers a wide color range including gold, rose gold, silver, grey, gun-metal, black, champagne, and rainbow titanium. Substrate heating is maintained between 80–300°C, making it suitable for stainless steel, copper alloys, zinc alloys, and selected engineering plastics.

Used-hand PVD Hard Coating Machine for Gear Tool

Engineered for hard coating of gear hobs, cutting tools, and precision dies. It deposits TiN, TiAlN, and AlCrN films with hardness exceeding 2500 HV. Substrate heating is controlled between 400–520°C, and the system includes ion cleaning and bias voltage for strong adhesion. PLC automation or manual control options are available.

Application Fit

Our used coating machines are suitable for a range of production and R&D environments:

  • Decorative PVD: watch cases, eyewear frames, faucets, door handles, smartphone frames, e-cigarette housings, and premium metalware.
  • Hard PVD: gear hobs, shaper cutters, stamping dies, die-casting molds, bearings, gear shafts, carbide drills, end mills, and indexable inserts.
  • Functional coatings: DLC and Ta-C films for wear resistance and low friction in industrial components.

Engineering Value and Reconditioning Process

Every used coating machine we offer undergoes a structured reconditioning process before delivery. We inspect the vacuum chamber, pumping system, power supplies, heating units, and control hardware. Critical components are repaired or replaced as needed, and the system is tested under vacuum to verify leak integrity and coating uniformity.

Our in-house coating production line allows us to run sample coatings on the reconditioned machine before shipment. This confirms process stability and provides a baseline for your production parameters.

Configuration and Integration Support

We configure each used coating machine to match your required coating process and production workflow. Options include:

  • Choice of cathodic arc, magnetron sputtering, or hybrid source configuration.
  • PLC automation with recipe management or manual control panels.
  • Substrate heating range and temperature control accuracy.
  • Chamber size and fixture design for your specific parts.
  • Integration with existing vacuum pumps, cooling water, and exhaust systems.

Our engineers provide installation supervision, commissioning support, and operator training. We also supply spare parts, targets, and process development assistance.

Quality Assurance and Acceptance

Before shipment, each used coating machine is tested for vacuum performance, heating uniformity, and coating adhesion. We provide a test report and, upon request, can run a sample coating on your substrate material. Acceptance criteria are agreed upon before delivery, and our team supports final commissioning at your facility.

Information We Use to Configure Your Solution

To prepare an accurate proposal for a used coating machine, we typically need the following project details:

Project Input Why It Matters
Coating type (decorative, hard, functional) Determines source technology, target materials, and process parameters.
Substrate material and part geometry Influences fixture design, heating range, and chamber size.
Required coating thickness and hardness Sets process time, bias voltage, and source power requirements.
Production volume and cycle time Determines chamber capacity and automation level.
Available utilities (power, water, compressed air) Ensures the machine can be installed without major infrastructure changes.

Maintenance and Spare Parts

We maintain a stock of common spare parts for our used coating machines, including vacuum seals, target materials, filaments, and electronic components. Our service team can provide remote diagnostics and on-site repair support. Preventive maintenance schedules are provided with each machine to maximize uptime.

Frequently Asked Questions
